ITAV not only offers free transportation to any location in Westchester County, but also offers many other services that seniors have indicated they would like.  To obtain services all you need to do is become a member! Then a call to the ITAV Service Center  * 914.222.5116 * will connect you directly to our team of volunteers who will help make all the arrangements! Yes, it's that easy! Below are some of the benefits heard expressed by seniors in the community.    

Transportation:

“I understand that the #1 service on practically everybody’s list is availability of rides,  particularly for medical appointments.   Great to learn that the number of rides is unlimited as long as volunteers are available.”

Just Checking In Phone Calls

I’m a member because it gives me a safety net.  I know if I need help there will be somebody who can help.  Even if it’s just to give me a referral. 

Handyman Services

When I need somebody to help with those annoying little tasks like changing a light bulb in my kitchen ceiling fixture.  I am not comfortable on a ladder any longer.

Companionship

I love my home and so glad I am able to continue to live here. I joined for the transportation service but it's great to know that there are so many other services offered ... like calling me every day to make sure everything is okay and possibly dropping by for a visit and maybe playing a board game.  

Technical Support

I love the internet and email.  But there are times when I’m totally befuddled and my grand children who are whizzes live too far away to pop in to help all the time.  So it’s good to know I will be able to call for an ITAV whiz!  That goes for my TV remote and cell phone problems too.

At Home Assistance

I love the Christmas holidays and all the festivities.  I always used to enjoy taking the simplest of gifts and making it something special with wrapping and ribbons.  To think maybe there will be a volunteer to help me do that is great.  Or if not helping with the wrapping then walking my dog and watering my plants while I wrap.
